About the Founder/Chief Executive Officer- Nekeisha Maxie, MS, AMFT

Growing up in a single-parent household on the East Side of New Orleans, I witnessed my mother’s immense strength and resilience while grappling with my father's absence.

Our world was turned upside down when Hurricane Katrina struck, leaving us displaced and grappling with the trauma, pain, and loss that accompanied such a devastating event.

The emotional turmoil from the hurricane was compounded by the challenges of rebuilding our lives from the ground up, a process that left deep scars on my spirit.

Despite these hardships, I found solace and purpose in sports, becoming a student-athlete and a leader on the court and within my community. My experiences of resilience and overcoming adversity fueled my passion for helping others, leading me to pursue a career in social work and clinical psychology. I wanted to channel my struggles into support for those facing their battles.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to serving those in need—whether it’s foster youth, juveniles in the justice system, individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, or the unhoused. I've always been the reliable listener, the shoulder to cry on, and the friend who offers support and guidance. People trust me and lean on me because I understand what it means to face and overcome adversity.

This deep commitment to service is why I chose to open a facility dedicated to nurturing and supporting foster youth. My goal is to provide a stable, loving, and safe environment where they can focus on their personal growth and development. I want them to know that their circumstances do not define them, and with the right support and community, they can make the changes necessary to build better futures.

In creating this facility, I aim to be a beacon of hope and a source of empowerment, helping young people to become strong, independent, and contributing members of society.
